NIKSHA OS — Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses NIKSHA OS — schools, principals, administrators, teachers, staff, students and parents ("you"). It is part of the Terms & Conditions and the Institution Agreement. Breaking it may lead to suspension or termination of access.

1. Purpose

NIKSHA OS handles sensitive information about children, families and staff. This policy keeps the platform safe, lawful and trustworthy for everyone.

2. You may use NIKSHA OS to

• Run legitimate school operations you are authorised to perform (admissions, attendance, exams, fees, transport, hostel, library, HR, communication, etc.).
• Access only the data your role and the school permit you to see.
• Communicate with parents, staff and students for genuine school purposes.

3. You must not

Misuse access or identity

• Share your login, OTP or device with someone else, or log in as another person.
• Attempt to access data, classes, students or schools you are not authorised for.
• Try to bypass role-based access controls, row-level security or the legal acceptance gate.

Attack or probe the system

• Attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or penetration-test the service without prior written authorisation (see the Security & Responsible Disclosure Policy).
• Upload malware, run automated bulk requests, or interfere with other users.

Misuse content & communications

• Upload, store or send content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful, or that endangers a child.
• Use the communication, notification, WhatsApp or marketing features to send spam or content unrelated to the school's legitimate purpose.
• Post or transmit another person's personal data without a lawful basis.

Misuse children's data

• Use any student data for advertising, profiling, tracking, or any purpose other than the school service.
• Export, copy or retain children's data outside the school's authorised systems.

Misuse AI features

• Rely on AI output as fact without human review (see the AI Usage & Disclaimer).
• Feed the AI features data you are not authorised to process, or use them to generate harmful, discriminatory or unlawful content.

Misuse financial features

• Enter false financial records, tamper with invoices/receipts, or use the payment features for anything other than genuine school fees.

4. Content you upload

You are responsible for content you upload (photos, documents, messages). You confirm you have the right to upload it and that it does not break this policy or the law. We may remove content that violates this policy and, where required, report it to the relevant authority.

5. Account security is shared

• Keep your device locked and your app updated.
• Report a lost device or suspected compromise to your school administrator and to support@nikshaos.in immediately so the session can be revoked.
• Schools must promptly deactivate accounts for staff who leave.

6. Monitoring & enforcement

We keep audit logs of key actions to protect the platform and support the school's accountability obligations. We do not read private content for unrelated purposes. If you breach this policy, we (or your school) may warn, suspend or terminate access, remove offending content, and where the law requires, notify authorities. Serious breaches (e.g. child-safety or security attacks) are acted on without notice.

7. Reporting misuse

• Suspected security issues → support@nikshaos.in (see the Responsible Disclosure Policy).
• Suspected misuse, abuse or child-safety concerns → your school administrator and support@nikshaos.in.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes are recorded in the the document changelog and surfaced in-app. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated policy.
